My favorite Kitware perk is the flexibility - people are treated like adults. As long as work gets done, employees can manage their own work life. That plus the scooter I ride between buildings.   Read more...

The flexible schedule at Kitware is awesome. When my children were younger, it meant that I could volunteer in their classroom on a weekly basis and attend their various school events by simply adjusting my schedule to make that work. At Kitware we are paid on an hourly basis which gives you more flexibility when you need it (work a few extra hours today because you need to leave early tomorrow), and pays you for your extra time when you are working hard to meet deadlines.   Read more...

My favorite part of working at Kitware is the impact I can have on scientific research, working with such a large range of people from national labs, universities, companies, and government institutions. It is very rewarding to be able to do work in a sustainable way and to offer the results of what we create under such a permissively open-source license.   Read more...

I love the independence afforded to the engineers against the collaborative, friendly work environment. Kitware balances these two perfectly. I feel like I can always focus on my tasks and get things done, but also that I can always go to others for help, to exchange knowledge and ideas, and to make decisions.   Read more...

I think the whole package is a perk. The company is respectful of your time and your social life, should you choose to have one (you should). Specific schedules can be reasonably accommodated, the benefits are great, and the vacation time is better than many other U.S. companies about which I have heard. It's a low-stress environment in my own experience. Did I mention the candies? We get a lot of candies and healthier food choices too. Back to the perk: If I had to pick one, I think new technical hires will certainly enjoy the $3,000 annual hardware budget we can use to buy these gadgets that make our lives a tad easier.   Read more...
